My guess is that this is a speedo cable issue considering that this has been swapped for a longer unit. I'm not sure which speedo cable was used IE, Bavaria, automatic, etc but i can see this getting annoying fast.
Do any of you have this issue? Have any of you fixed this? Is there a lubrication I can try? It's a very prominent ticking noise and it actually drowns out the standard ticking when the turn signal blinker is engaged.
Not sure if lube will help but I once saw Ben T's father, in a parking lot in Colorado , show a fellow how to lube his cable. If you lube the cable, suggest using speedometer cable lube vs "light machine oil.

The above presumes you didn't have the ticking sound before changing trannys and speedo cables Or it could be your odometer gear getting ready to die, mine clicked really loud before the speedo went wonky and the odo stopped working.
